The Parker Law Firm focuses its municipal law practice on serving as a city attorney to smaller general law cities. James has considerable experience representing governmental entities and understands that taxpayer money is a limited resource and the importance of the budget. As city attorney, the Parker Law Firm handles all aspects of its municipal client’s legal matters from preparation of city ordinances, handling open records requests, providing advice and guidance on budget and tax rate adoption, and advising municipal clients during city council meetings, to preparing and reviewing real estate contracts and other documents, construction contracts, and its municipal client’s employment matters.

James also serves as a municipal court prosecutor for the municipal clients of The Parker Law Firm. James has prosecuted in as many as eight different municipal courts in the Central Texas region.
